James Suckle

Memory's that's how we tell the stories. But it's how we cherish the moments we have so we can make them even more special. Those moments you only experience once in your life are what my goal is to capture these moments.

Hello everyone, I'm James Suckle, a 17-year-old from Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island. During my early years, I faced difficulties in school, struggled to make friends, and often experienced bullying. At the age of 9, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia, which contributed to my academic challenges. However, everything changed when I discovered my passion for photography.
My ADHD actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it fueled my creativity and allowed me to constantly seek ways to improve. As a typical teenager, I was also heavily into video games. In particular, Fortnite opened up a whole new world of digital media for me. Watching YouTube videos, I became fascinated with video editing and motion graphics to create videos of gameplay and funny moments with friends.
Determined to pursue my newfound interests, I saved up money to buy my first computer and invested in the Adobe suite, granting me access to various programs for learning and experimentation. Toward the end of my sophomore year, I took a leap and volunteered to photograph our high school baseball team. I provided players with images for their personal use and shared them on my Instagram, occasionally creating graphics to enhance the experience. The response was overwhelming, with immense support pouring in from players, parents, and fellow students.
The beginning of my junior year marked a turning point when numerous people asked me to photograph different fall sports events. This triggered me to establish my own business, "James Suckle Media." Since then, my work has been featured in various posts, including those on players' social media accounts, the school website, the district newsletter, local newspapers, and the Daler Digest every month.
I have continued to attend games to this day, ensuring that my classmates have tangible memories of their special moments. My ultimate dream is to become a photographer for the New York Mets. As a devoted Mets fan, I yearn to be part of capturing the unforgettable moments during games and sharing them with everyone, etching those experiences in the hearts of fans and players alike.
